Choosing the right GAI Translate plan is easy once you understand the three core blocks of the service: subscription, translation tokens, and expert review tokens.
These elements work together to give you flexibility, predictable cost control, and access to both AI and human linguistic expertise.
We’ve written you a straightforward guide to help you understand before buying.
1. Your GAI Translate subscription
Your GAI Translate subscription refers to your core plan when accessing our platform. It comes in 3 tiers:
- Professional
- Express
- Precision
and each tier includes a set amount of translation tokens and expert review tokens that allow you to run translations. Both tokens are renewed monthly.
For what each tier includes in detail, see our pricing page.
| Function | What it is | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Your platform access and core plan |
|
| Translation tokens | Machine translation capacity |
|
| Expert Review tokens | Human proofreading |
|
2. Translation tokens
A translation token represents a unit of machine translation output.
The system uses slightly different token counts depending on whether a language is Standard or Premium.
- Standard Languages: 1 word = 1 token
- Premium Languages: 1 word = 1.35 tokens
For example, German, French, Spanish fall under Standard; whereas Chinese, Japanese, Arabic under Premium.
How translation tokens work
- Your subscription includes a fixed monthly pool (e.g., 5,000, 125,000, or 250,000 tokens depending on tier)
- You can buy additional bundles pay‑as‑you‑go
- Tokens reset monthly (except PAYG bundles)
Essentially, translation tokens act as your “AI engine fuel” for text, document, and image translation.
3. Expert Review tokens
Expert Review Tokens let you send any translation for one‑click human review by our certified linguists.
These are ideal for:
- compliance documents
- contracts or regulatory reports
- brand‑critical content and marketing materials
How expert review tokens work
- Each subscription plan may include a monthly allowance (e.g., 200, 1,500, or 3,000 tokens)
- Additional Expert Review bundles can be purchased, and they last for the remainder of the subscription term, no matter when added
- If your team reviews more content in a particular month, bundles provide seamless overflow coverage
How much of each token do you need?
Here we’ve came up with a standard reference table based our existing client usage:
| User type | Words | Translation tokens | Expert Review tokens | Suggested plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light user (solo, admin, internal comms) |
~10,000 | 10,000 tokens | 200 tokens | Professional |
| Growing team (marketing, product, support) |
~50,000 | 62,000 tokens | 1,000 tokens | Express |
| Regulated user (finance, legal, compliance) |
~40,000 | 54,000 tokens | 3,000 tokens | Express + Expert Review |
| Enterprise publisher (manuals, KBs, websites) |
~250,000 | 310,000 tokens | 5,000 tokens | Precision + Expert Review |
| API user (support tickets, CMS sync) |
~300,000 | 372,000 tokens | 7,000 tokens | Precision + Expert Review |

Conclusion
Here’s the simplest way to explain the relationship to prospects:
